Good morning everyone,
As we start to kick off season two, we would like to remind everyone that at Fawkner Netball Club, we are proud of the positive, inclusive and fun community we have built together. While we always strive to make netball an enjoyable experience for all involved, we also have a shared responsibility to ensure our club remains a safe and respectful place for everyone—players, coaches, umpires, families and supporters.
As we start the second half of the season, we would like to remind all members to please take the time to review the Darebin Netball Association (DNA) and Fawkner Netball Club policies, by laws, and Codes of Conduct.
These documents outline the expectations for behaviour and conduct, both on and off the court, and help ensure our club upholds the values we all believe in.

Respect for Umpires – A Non-Negotiable
Darebin Netball Association and Fawkner Netball Club fully supports the below:
• Darebin is a training facility for umpires. Many umpires are in development and learning every week.
• Trainee and junior umpires must not be approached under any circumstances. If you have a concern, only the senior umpire or designated supervisor may be approached, and this must be done respectfully.
• Many umpires are also players and/or coaches. However, when umpiring, they act independently and are trained to apply the rules impartially—regardless of their club affiliation.
• Any suggestion or discussion to the contrary—whether directly or within earshot of others—is inappropriate and undermines the integrity of the game.
• Umpires apply the rules of the game with impartiality, fairness and consistency—this must be respected at all times.
• Spectators, players, and coaches are reminded that only team captains may speak to umpires, and only in a respectful, appropriate manner.
Let’s model respectful behaviour, especially for our younger players who are learning from us every week.
